Beerenauslese

The denomination Beerenauslese (BA) refers to naturally sweet wines made from over-ripe berries with noble rot. The minimum sugar content required in the must is 25KMW. We make Auslese wines only in special years and in very small amounts. To achieve this, we sort the exquisite harvest by hand and vinify the concentrated berries using an old, small plunger press.

The wines are oily and dense, have a more decent residual sugar content, and are accessible earlier than Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA). BA is best enjoyed with a hearty cheese and with fruity, not overly sweet deserts. Given their aging properties, these wines will last for years.
